Lillian Melendez will change your perceptions of genres. You may have thought hers wasn't exactly your cup of tea but just try to take on one of her novels and put it down disappointed. Good luck! Her characters will stick in your mind and suck you back into the intense drama of her plotlines and compel you to read to the last page.

Martin E. Silenus shares his humorous essays about what the way life should be for a hard working male. Not too long, not too short, and definitely entertaining. Reading this is like having a beer and venting with your buddies. Ah, good times!
This sounds like the kind of story that belongs on the big screen because upheavals like these are visually amazing. That's why I want to read it. I want to see if it's a brain workout for the imagination to add those visuals.
